Jahan et al [12] measured the levels of vitamins and minerals in patients with seborrheic dermatitis (n=75) compared with controls (n=76) in a case-control study, and concluded patients with seborrheic dermatitis had increased copper, manganese, iron, calcium, and magnesium concentrations (P Rahimi et al [14] evaluated serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) in patients with seborrheic dermatitis (n=118) compared with healthy controls (n=171) in another case-control study [14].

Intravenous Ascorbic Acid for the Prevention of Postreperfusion Syndrome in Orthotopic Liver Transplantation: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Intravenous Ascorbic Acid for the Prevention of Postreperfusion Syndrome in Orthotopic Liver Transplantation: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial

Sepsis has been shown to decrease the levels of some vitamins, such as ascorbic acid, which has been associated with the development of multiorgan failure and death. Intestinal absorption of vitamin C is saturable, so the only way to increase its levels would be by intravenous administration. Tanaka et al [28] reduced resuscitation fluid volumes in patients with burns by administering high doses of intravenous ascorbic acid.

Self-Reported Medication Use Across Racial and Rural or Urban Subgroups of People Who Are Pregnant in the United States: Decentralized App-Based Cohort Study

More specifically, the use of medications, immunizations, and prenatal vitamins across underrepresented pregnant populations is not well understood. There is significant evidence that vitamin supplementation can prevent a multitude of problems during pregnancy, yet there is no nationally recognized standard on the minimum dose of each vitamin and many prenatal vitamins do not include all of the generally recommended vitamins [14].

Investigating Nutrition-Related Complications and Quality of Life in Patients With Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors: Protocol for a Mixed-Methods Prospective Study

Vitamin deficiency (niacin and fat-soluble vitamins) and malnutrition may be prevalent among patients with GEP NET, but there are limited data available to guide tailored screening and intervention programs. This study will aim to provide the first in-depth, comprehensive description of nutritional issues in patients with GEP NETs and the first Australian data on nutritional complications in patients with GEP NETs.
